The Jholawala Blazer and Uniform Pants that form the first look reinterpret the uniforms of every autorickshaw driver. The jacket and pants are constructed from 100% cotton twill for maximum breathability. The patch pockets, lapels, waistband are made and from 100% silk, with this Katha patchwork being sourced directly from Bengal. The patch pockets and details in the patchwork katha fabric are an ode to the broken pieces of which we are composed.

The Jholawala Blazer can also be folded into a tote bag. The three-panel jacket has a drop shoulder with an oversized construction. The bodice and distorted lapel design are Inspired by the closure style of kurtas. Each jacket has a hangtag that is 3D-printed inspired by the ID tags worn by every rickshaw driver in the city.


कॉलर Pant

The Collar Pant The Collar Pants have an adjustability of two sizes at the waist. The pleat and dart at the knee create a balloon-like silhouette which is inspired by dhotis as well as Gujarati dandiya outfits. The angular leg opening is present for maximum functionality since the pants are designed for work, ensuring that they will not obstruct movement. The waistband of the pants is derived from a shirt collar. These pants are meant for daily use.

इधर-उधर Jumpsuit

The Convertible Jumpsuit is composed of a dhoti and a corset and can be
ways:

  • It can be worn as a jumpsuit with the corset connecting to the dhoti.
  • The buttons present at the separation between the two legs of the dhoti can be opened to form a skirt, with the jumpsuit turning into a dress.
  • The top and the bottom can be separated using a zip. leaving the corset and the dhoti or skirt to be worn individually
  • The dhoti can be turned into a cape, creating an entirely different piece from the same item.

Inspired by the traditional celebratory dress from Bihar, both pieces in this set are constructed using 100% pure raw silk from Bihar.

The Detached Sleeves are worn as and can be made part of an accessory any outfit. They have an elasticated drawstring at the shoulder and wrist, allowing for easy size adjustment. created using 100% georgette with Chikankari embroidery originating from Uttar Pradesh.

 

ढेर-सारे Chudi (D.S.C)

The DSC, which stands for Dher Sare Choodi, are 3-inch bangles 3D-printed in 100% recycled plastic. These cuffs are to be used to restrict the flare of sleeves at the wrist. They are inspired that are found at by the stacks of glass bangles local stores in Firozabada, Uttar Pradesh.

पत्ता चद्दर T-shirt

The two t-shirts that are part of this collection are the Chikankari T-shirt and the Patta Chaddar T-shirt. Both are double layered t-shirts, lined with 100% cotton jersey and embellished with textile on the outer layer.

The first iteration is the Chikankari t-shirt, which has an outer layer of 100% Chikankari, an embroidery style from Uttar Pradesh.

The second iteration is the Patta Chaddar T-shirt which has an outer layer of 100% cotton Bhagalpuri Chaddar that originates from Bihar. This 1s an ode to the versatility of the patta chaddar fabric, which is traditionally used for light towels ano blankets.

The zippers at the shoulder and side seams seams of both t-shirts can be opened to separate the front and back panels of the t shirts, and the two pieces can be mixed and matched between the two types of t-shirts.
