About
Anemoia is an Indian clothing label built on a simple premise: study what's overlooked, then reimagine it. The name means nostalgia for a place or time you've never lived. Anemoia treats Indian craft and culture not as something to copy, but something to take apart and put back together with care, as something new.
Every collection starts with research into an occupation, its systems, the textiles passed down through a community. What gets made afterward is not a costume. It's a reinterpretation, clothing meant to be worn in, reused, and adjusted to you and the environment around you.
The studio and workshop are in Andheri West, Mumbai. Anemoia stocks at Unconventional in Kolkata, and shows across India each year, including three years running at Mumbai's AYC festival. Ready-to-Wear comes in fixed runs. Made-to-Order is built to measurement. Chutur Putur carries the same research into smaller, everyday objects. The Archive holds what came before.
