Anemoia is a clothing label rooted in stories of work, memory, and identity. We take everyday garments-uniforms, tools, textiles-and examine how they carry meaning across time and place.

The word Anemoia refers to a nostalgia for a time or place we haven’t experienced. For us, it’s a way of connecting with India’s vast cultural heritage-a heritage we’ve inherited through stories, fragments, and memory. Through our garments, we revisit these histories not as replicas, but as textile-forward pieces built for modern, utilitarian sensibilities.

Our collections begin with observation. We look to those who move through cities in rhythm: workers, carriers, caretakers- people whose presence is often overlooked, yet essential. From there, we build garments that reflect their systems: modular, layered, and always in motion.

We work closely with artisans, textile practitioners, and collaborators to ensure that craft remains central to our process. Some pieces are hand-treated, others modular, many developed in partnership with artists like No Laundry.
